Terms of use
Version 0.2, 25 September 2026
These terms govern your membership of Halo Club and your use of the Halo Club app and website (together, the "platform"). The platform is operated by Halo Club Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17463669, with its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, London, England, WC2H 9JQ and VAT number [VAT number] ("Halo Club", "we", "us"). You can contact us at hello@haloclub.app.
Please read these terms carefully. They say how stays are paid for, when fees are and are not refunded, and how reports and disputes are handled. If you live in the European Union or the European Economic Area, appendix 1 also applies to you. If you live in the United States, appendix 2 also applies to you. Where an appendix conflicts with the main body of these terms, the appendix prevails for the members it covers.
Nothing in these terms affects the rights you have under the law of the country where you live that cannot be excluded by agreement.
1. What Halo Club is
1.1 Halo Club is a members-only club whose members open their homes to one another for paid stays. A member who lists a home is a "host". A member who books a stay is a "guest". A home listed on the platform is a "home", a request to stay is a "request" and a confirmed reservation is a "booking".
1.2 Halo Club provides the platform on which members list homes, find homes, message one another, book and pay. When a guest books a home, a contract for the stay is formed directly between the guest and the host (the "stay contract"). Halo Club is not a party to the stay contract and does not own or control any home. It is not a landlord, travel agent, tour operator or insurer.
1.3 Halo Club provides its own services to you under these terms. They are membership and verification, the listing and search tools, the booking service described in section 9, messaging, reviews and payment collection through our payment provider as described in section 11. We provide them with reasonable care and skill.
1.4 Halo Club vets applicants and members. Vetting is meant to keep the club trusted. It is not a guarantee of any member's conduct, of the condition of any home or of the accuracy of any listing.
2. Membership
2.1 You must be at least 25 years old and able to enter into binding contracts to apply for membership.
2.2 Membership is by application and at the club's discretion. We apply our admission criteria consistently and a person makes every decision. We may decline an application, and we may review a membership at any time. If you are declined you may ask us to reconsider. We do not decline applications on the basis of any characteristic protected by law.
2.3 You must give accurate information when you apply and keep it up to date. We may ask you to verify your identity, your address and, if you list a home, your right to let it. Verification may involve a third-party identity service acting on our behalf, which may ask for a photograph of an identity document and a selfie.
2.4 Your account is personal to you. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for all activity on your account. Tell us straight away at hello@haloclub.app if you think your account has been used without your permission.
2.5 Membership tiers and any annual fee are set by the club. The tier you are offered is chosen when your application is accepted, and some tiers are complimentary. Where a tier has a fee, the fee and what it covers are shown to you when you are offered membership and before you pay. It is payable before your membership starts and on each anniversary. A paid membership renews automatically each year unless you cancel it before the renewal date or we end it under section 18. We will remind you 30 days before your membership renews, tell you the fee for the coming year and how to cancel, and charge the fee on the renewal date.
2.6 You may cancel a new or renewed paid membership within 14 days of paying and receive a refund of that fee, less a proportionate amount for the period of membership you have used and for any booking service already provided at your request.
3. Your conduct as a member
3.1 You agree to treat other members, their homes and their belongings with respect, to comply with the law and to follow any house rules a host has published. The community guidelines say more about what we expect and form part of these terms.
3.2 You must not use the platform to post false, misleading or infringing content; to harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone; to contact members for purposes unrelated to a stay; to take a booking or a payment off the platform to avoid our fees; to use another person's account; to bring anyone not named in a booking to a home; to scrape or copy the platform or its content; or to do anything that would bring the club into disrepute.
3.3 Messages sent through the platform may be stored and, where we have a legitimate reason (for example a report about safety or a dispute about a booking), read by us.
3.4 Another member sees only your member card: your first name, your photo, your city, your rating and how long you have been a member. Your contact details are never shown to another member. Your exact address and arrival instructions are shared with a guest only once their stay is confirmed, and on the map a home's location is approximate.
4. Listings and Halo Club's role
4.1 Hosts are responsible for their listings. We do not verify every statement in a listing and we do not inspect homes. Photographs, descriptions and amenities are provided by the host. Where a host asks, we may suggest wording for a listing from what the host has written; the host chooses what is published and remains responsible for it.
4.2 Search results are ordered mainly by how well a home matches your search, whether it is free on your dates and its reviews. We do not accept payment for ranking, and homes owned by Halo Club or its officers receive no preferential treatment.
4.3 Hosts are members letting their own homes as private individuals, not as a business, and the platform does not ask them to declare otherwise. This means the consumer protection rules that apply to contracts with businesses may not apply to your stay contract with a host. Your rights against Halo Club under these terms are not affected.
4.4 Where the law of the place where a home is located requires a registration, licence or permit number for short-term lets, the host must supply it and we may display it on the listing. We may carry out checks and may remove listings that fail them.
5. Hosting: listing a home
5.1 To list a home you must own it, or have the express permission of the owner and of any landlord, lender, insurer, freeholder, management company or homeowners' association whose consent is required. You are responsible for checking and complying with local rules on short-term lets, including registration, licensing, planning, night limits (for example the 90-night limit in Greater London), tourist taxes and health and safety requirements.
5.2 Your listing must be accurate and complete, including the price, the maximum number of guests, house rules, accessibility and any material defects or hazards. You must keep your calendar up to date.
5.3 When you list a home you choose one of the five cancellation policies in the cancellation and refund policy: flexible, moderate, limited, firm or strict. The policy you choose applies to every booking of that home made while it is in force. You may change it, and the change applies only to bookings made after the change.
5.4 You must not charge a guest anything that is not shown on the listing and included in the total price at the time of booking, other than a charge for damage under section 13.
5.5 We may pause or remove a listing, with a statement of our reasons, where: (a) it breaks these terms or the community guidelines; (b) we receive a credible report about safety, discrimination or accuracy; (c) a required registration number is missing or invalid; or (d) the law requires it. You may respond and ask us to reconsider by writing to hello@haloclub.app. Except where the law prevents it or the matter is urgent, we will give you 30 days' notice before ending your ability to host.
6. Hosting: accepting requests and the commission
6.1 A request becomes a booking when you accept it on the platform and the guest's payment succeeds. If the payment does not succeed there is no booking, and we will tell you both. On confirmation the stay contract is formed between you and the guest on the terms of your listing, your chosen cancellation policy, your house rules and these terms.
6.2 Halo Club charges you a host fee of 12.5% plus VAT where it applies (the "commission"). At the UK rate of VAT that is 15% including VAT. The commission is charged on the nights only: the price of the stay that the guest pays to you (the "host amount"). It is never charged on the reservation fee or on any taxes we collect. The commission is deducted from your payout.
6.3 The commission is charged only on the part of the host amount you actually receive after any refund under the cancellation and refund policy, whether the refund follows a guest's cancellation, a problem on arrival, a change to the booking or a cancellation by Halo Club. Where the guest receives a full refund, no commission is charged.
6.4 No commission is charged on a booking that you cancel.
6.5 We may change the rate of commission or the way it is calculated on at least 30 days' notice. A change does not apply to bookings confirmed before it takes effect.
7. Hosting: payouts and taxes
7.1 Your payout for a stay is released 7 days after the guest checks out, less the commission and any amounts you owe us under these terms, to the bank account you have registered with our payment provider. For a stay paid monthly, each payment is paid out 7 days after the nights it covers. If the guest reports a problem with the stay within those 7 days, the payout is held until the report is closed, and for no longer than 30 days after check-out. Payouts are made by our payment provider, not from Halo Club's own accounts.
7.2 A refund that Halo Club decides after a report about a stay comes out of your payout for that stay while the payout is still held. You authorise us to deduct from your payouts any such refund and any other amount you owe us under these terms. Once your payout for a stay has been released, a refund decided later does not change it.
7.3 You are responsible for your own taxes on income from bookings. Where the law requires, we or our payment provider will withhold amounts from your payout and pay them to the tax authority (for example in Italy), and we will tell you when we do.
7.4 We are required by law to report information about hosts and their bookings to tax authorities, including HM Revenue and Customs and, for homes or hosts in the European Union, the relevant member state authority. You must give us the information we need for this (including your address, tax identification number and, where relevant, VAT number and property registration details), and we will give you a copy of what we report.
7.5 Where local tourist or occupancy taxes must be collected by the platform, we will collect them from the guest as a separate line in the total price and pay them over. Otherwise you are responsible for collecting and paying any such taxes.
8. Hosting: cancelling a booking
8.1 Cancelling a confirmed booking harms the guest and the club, so cancel only when you must. If you cancel a booking, or if Halo Club cancels a booking because you have broken these terms: (a) the guest is refunded everything paid, including the reservation fee and any taxes; (b) you are paid nothing for the cancelled booking and no commission is charged; and (c) you pay Halo Club the reservation fee the guest paid, which we charge to the payment method registered on your account or, if there is none or the charge fails, ask you to pay, and which we may take from your next payout while it is unpaid. The cancelled dates are released for other members to book. While you owe it, you cannot make a booking. We may waive or refund the charge in (c) where you had to cancel because of circumstances beyond your control. It does not apply when Halo Club cancels a booking for reasons of its own.
8.2 If you cancel repeatedly, we may at our discretion pause your listing or review your membership under section 18. Nothing in this section limits the guest's own rights against you under the stay contract.
9. Booking as a guest: the booking service and the reservation fee
9.1 When you send a request, you make an offer to the host to enter into the stay contract on the terms of the listing, the host's cancellation policy, the house rules and these terms. Before you send a request you are shown the total price, including the host amount, the reservation fee and any taxes, the host's cancellation policy for your dates and when the reservation fee is refundable. The button you press to send a request is labelled "Request to book": pressing it places you under an obligation to pay if the host accepts.
9.2 By sending a request you also ask Halo Club to provide you with the "booking service": checking that you and the host are current members whose accounts are not paused, presenting your request to the host, taking your payment when the host accepts and confirming the booking to you both. The booking service is a service Halo Club provides to you and is separate from the stay contract.
9.3 The booking service is charged at the reservation fee shown in full before you send your request. It is a fixed amount per stay, stepped by the length of the stay, including VAT where it applies. It is included in your total and is paid to Halo Club, not to the host.
9.4 The booking service is fully performed when the host accepts your request, your payment succeeds and we confirm the booking. By sending a request you expressly ask us to begin the booking service straight away and acknowledge that, once the booking is confirmed, the booking service is complete and you will no longer have a right to cancel your contract with Halo Club for that service or to a refund of the reservation fee, except as set out in 9.5 and the cancellation and refund policy.
9.5 The reservation fee pays for the booking service and is not refunded when you cancel, whatever the host's cancellation policy says about the host amount. It is refunded in full only if the host cancels the booking, or if Halo Club cancels it for any reason other than your breach of these terms. This does not affect your right to a refund if we fail to provide the booking service with reasonable care and skill, or any other right you have by law.
9.6 If your request is declined or expires, or your payment does not succeed, there is no booking and nothing is charged.
9.7 After confirmation we will send you a written record of the booking, the total price, the host's cancellation policy and these terms, which you should keep.
9.8 If you live in the United Kingdom and you did not give the request and acknowledgement in 9.4, you may cancel your contract with Halo Club for the booking service within 14 days of the day you sent your request, without giving a reason, by emailing hello@haloclub.app or using the model cancellation form in appendix 3, and the reservation fee will be refunded. There is no right to cancel the stay contract in this way: it is for accommodation on specific dates, which the law excludes from the right to cancel a distance contract. The host's cancellation policy applies to it instead.
10. Staying as a guest
10.1 You must use the home only for a private stay by the people named in the booking, up to the maximum number shown, and comply with the house rules. Nobody who is not named in the booking may stay at the home. No parties, events, filming or commercial use unless the host has agreed in writing through the platform.
10.2 You must leave the home in the condition you found it, allowing for ordinary use, and report any damage promptly through the platform.
10.3 If the home is materially not as described, is not accessible, is unsafe or is unclean, tell the host and us through the platform within 24 hours of discovering the problem, and in any case before you leave, so that it can be put right. Depending on the circumstances we may help you look for another home or arrange a refund under the cancellation and refund policy.
11. Payments
11.1 Payments are processed by Stripe Payments UK Ltd (the "payment provider"), which is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority as an electronic money institution (firm reference number [number]). Halo Club does not hold guests' payments in its own bank accounts. Money paid for a stay is held by the payment provider until it is paid out to the host or refunded.
11.2 Each host appoints Halo Club, acting through the payment provider, as its limited agent for the sole purpose of collecting payments from guests on the host's behalf. When a guest's payment for the host amount is received by the payment provider, the guest's obligation to pay the host that amount is discharged, and the host's only recourse for that amount is to Halo Club and the payment provider, not to the guest. Halo Club is not a trustee of any member.
11.3 When you send a request you give us your payment details and authorise us to check that funds are available. Nothing is charged until the host accepts. When the host accepts, you authorise the following charges to the payment method you gave: (a) the total shown when you sent the request, including the host amount, the reservation fee and any taxes; (b) for a stay of 30 nights or more, instead of the whole total at once, the first month and the reservation fee when the host accepts and each following month 7 days before it starts; and (c) any damage charge under section 13 or other amount you owe under these terms, charged when it falls due.
11.4 Where a charge is scheduled for a later date under 11.3(b), you agree that we may store your payment method with the payment provider and charge it on that date without further action by you. We will remind you 7 days before. If the charge fails, we will tell you at once and try again every 24 hours for 3 days, telling you and the host each time, during which you may update your payment method. If the charge has still not succeeded after 3 days, we will cancel the booking, or the remaining nights of a stay that has begun. What you have paid up to then is not refunded, and nothing more is charged for the nights cancelled.
11.5 Refunds are made to the payment method used for the booking within 14 days of the cancellation or of our decision. We do not give refunds as credit or vouchers.
11.6 The total price shown when you send a request includes every charge you must pay to complete the booking. Taxes that must be collected are shown before you pay.
11.7 If your payment method is a credit card, you may have additional rights against your card issuer under the law of the country where you live.
12. Cancellations and refunds
12.1 Cancellation of the stay contract by the guest is governed by the host's chosen cancellation policy as set out in the cancellation and refund policy, which forms part of these terms. The refund is of what was paid for the nights. Cancellation by the host is governed by section 8. The reservation fee is governed by 9.5.
12.2 If the host cancels, or Halo Club cancels, the guest is refunded everything paid.
12.3 Where an extenuating circumstance recognised in the cancellation and refund policy prevents a stay, the guest receives a full refund.
12.4 We may cancel a booking where we reasonably believe that the booking breaks these terms or the law, where a listing is removed under 5.5 or where a public authority requires it. We will give the guest and the host our reasons. The guest is refunded everything paid, unless the cancellation is because the guest has broken these terms, in which case the reservation fee is not refunded and the host is paid under the host's cancellation policy as if the guest had cancelled on that day.
12.5 There is no cooling-off period on a stay. A contract for accommodation on specific dates is outside the right to cancel a distance contract: in the United Kingdom, regulation 28(1)(h) of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013; in the European Union, article 16(l) of the Consumer Rights Directive. The host's cancellation policy is what applies.
13. Damage and security
13.1 A host who believes a guest has caused damage beyond ordinary wear must report it through the platform within 14 days of check-out, with evidence. We will give the guest [7] days to respond. If the guest agrees, or if, acting reasonably, we find that the evidence clearly shows the guest is responsible, we may charge the guest's payment method for the reasonable cost of repair or replacement up to the host amount paid for the booking. A guest is liable to the host for all damage they or their guests cause, and the cap limits only what we will charge without the guest's agreement: anything above it is between the host and the guest, and we will share the information we hold with both. We will give reasons, and the guest may challenge our decision under section 15. Halo Club does not take deposits and does not itself pay for damage.
13.2 We recommend that hosts hold home insurance that covers paying guests and that guests hold travel insurance. Halo Club does not insure members, homes or belongings.
14. Reviews
14.1 You may leave a review after a completed stay, and you have 14 days after check-out to do so. Reviews must be honest and based on your own experience. We publish only reviews left by members who have completed a booking, and we say so on the platform.
14.2 Every review is read by the club before it is published. We may refuse a review that breaks these terms or the community guidelines, and we will give you the reason. A refused review can be edited and sent again. We do not edit reviews ourselves.
14.3 While a report about a stay is open, reviews of that stay are held, and are published once the report is closed if they meet these terms.
15. Reports and how the club handles them
15.1 If something goes wrong with a stay, report it through the app within 14 days of check-out. A guest who finds a problem on arrival should report it within 24 hours of discovering it, as 10.3 says, so that it can be put right. A guest who wants a problem considered for a refund should report it within 7 days of check-out, while the host's payout for the stay is still held.
15.2 The club handles every report. We hear both sides, look at the messages and records we hold and decide on what we can verify. We will tell both members what we decided and why.
15.3 The outcome of a report may be no action, a word with the member concerned, a paused listing, a refund to the guest or the ending of a membership. A refund we decide comes out of the host's payout for that stay, as 7.2 says. While a guest's report is open, the host's payout for that stay is held as 7.1 says, and while any report is open, reviews of that stay are held.
15.4 A report does not limit either member's rights against the other under the stay contract, and we do not decide claims between members beyond what these terms and the cancellation and refund policy provide.
16. Content and intellectual property
16.1 You keep ownership of the content you post. You give us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use it to operate, promote and improve the platform for as long as it is on the platform and for a reasonable period afterwards to complete any booking or report.
16.2 The platform, its design, software and the Halo Club name and marks belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy or use them except as needed to use the platform as a member.
16.3 If you believe content on the platform infringes your rights or is unlawful, tell us at hello@haloclub.app with enough detail for us to find it. We will acknowledge notices, act on them without undue delay and tell you what we decided and why.
17. Our liability to you
17.1 Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for breach of your rights as a consumer that cannot be excluded by law (including our duty to provide our services with reasonable care and skill) or for any other liability that the law does not allow us to limit.
17.2 We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for loss to the extent it is caused by your breach of these terms or for loss that results from the acts or omissions of another member, including a host's failure to provide a home as described. Your remedy for those matters is against that member, and we will help as described in these terms and the cancellation and refund policy, including by paying the refunds that policy provides for.
17.3 If you are using the platform in the course of a business, our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of [£1,000] and the fees you paid to us in that period, and we are not liable to you for loss of profit, business or goodwill.
17.4 We do not exclude or limit any liability that we owe to you as a consumer for the booking service or our other services beyond what the law permits.
18. Suspension, closing your account and changes
18.1 You may close your account at any time from the app's settings or by contacting us, once any outstanding bookings and amounts due have been completed or settled.
18.2 We may pause or close your account if you break these terms or the community guidelines in a serious or repeated way, if your membership was obtained with false information, if you fail a verification check or if the law requires us to. We will tell you our reasons and, except where the law prevents it or the matter is urgent, give you the chance to respond. Where you are a host, 5.5 applies.
18.3 We may change these terms. We will give you at least 30 days' notice of changes by email or in the app, except where the change is required by law or is needed to address fraud, security or an imminent risk to members, in which case we may make it sooner. For hosts, at least 15 days' notice applies in every other case. Changes do not apply to bookings confirmed before they take effect. If you do not accept a change you may close your account before it takes effect.
19. Complaints and disputes
19.1 If you have a complaint about Halo Club, write to hello@haloclub.app. We will acknowledge it within [5] working days and aim to resolve it within [30] days.
19.2 Disputes between members about a stay should first be raised as a report through the app, and section 15 says how we handle them. We do not decide claims about the stay contract beyond what these terms and the cancellation and refund policy provide.
19.3 The club's decision on a report is final as far as the club is concerned. Halo Club is not obliged to use, and does not use, an alternative dispute resolution provider for consumer complaints. Nothing in this section stops you taking a dispute to court.
19.4 These terms and any dispute arising out of them are governed by the law of England and Wales. You may bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings there. If you live in the European Union or the European Economic Area, appendix 1 preserves your right to rely on the mandatory law of, and to bring proceedings in, the country where you live. If you live in the United States, appendix 2 applies.
20. General
20.1 These terms, the cancellation and refund policy, the community guidelines and the information we give you before you book form the agreement between you and Halo Club about the platform. The privacy policy explains how we use your personal data.
20.2 If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
20.3 We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation that takes over the operation of the platform. We will tell you if this happens and your rights will not be affected. You may not transfer yours.
20.4 A delay in enforcing these terms is not a waiver.
20.5 These terms are written in English. Where we provide a translation, the English version prevails.
Appendix 1. Members in the European Union and the European Economic Area
A1.1 This appendix applies if you habitually reside in a member state of the European Union or in Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway.
A1.2 Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under the mandatory consumer protection law of the country where you live. You may bring proceedings against Halo Club in the courts of that country, and Halo Club may bring proceedings against you only there.
A1.3 Where a listing states that the host is a private individual, the host is not acting as a trader and the consumer protection rules of European Union law, including the right of withdrawal, do not apply to your stay contract with that host. Your rights against Halo Club are not affected.
A1.4 The stay contract is for accommodation on a specific date or period. Under article 16(l) of the Consumer Rights Directive there is no right of withdrawal from it, whether the host is a trader or a private individual. The host's cancellation policy applies instead.
A1.5 You have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract for services within 14 days without giving a reason. The booking service is fully performed when your booking is confirmed. By sending a request you expressly ask that the booking service begin immediately and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once it has been fully performed. If you have not given that consent, you may withdraw from the booking service within 14 days of the day you sent your request by writing to hello@haloclub.app or by using the model form in appendix 3, and the reservation fee will be refunded.
A1.6 The host is responsible for the home and for performing the stay contract. Halo Club is responsible for the platform, the booking service, payment collection through the payment provider and the refund commitments in 9.5 and the cancellation and refund policy.
A1.7 If you host in the course of a business, the Platform-to-Business Regulation (EU) 2019/1150 applies to your relationship with Halo Club. The main parameters determining ranking on the platform are those in 4.2. We do not give differentiated treatment to homes owned by Halo Club or its officers. Changes to these terms that affect hosts take effect no earlier than 15 days after notice, and you may end your hosting before they take effect. If we restrict, pause or remove your listing we will give you a statement of reasons and you may complain to hello@haloclub.app.
A1.8 Halo Club's legal representative in the European Union for the purposes of the Digital Services Act is [name and address]. Our representative for data protection is named in the privacy policy.
A1.9 Halo Club is not obliged to and does not take part in alternative dispute resolution before a consumer arbitration board. The European Commission's online dispute resolution platform has been discontinued.
Appendix 2. Members in the United States
A2.1 This appendix applies if you reside in the United States.
A2.2 Every price we display for a home is the total amount you must pay for the stay, including the host amount and the reservation fee. Government taxes are shown separately before you pay. The reservation fee is refundable only in the situations listed in 9.5 and the cancellation and refund policy, and is otherwise non-refundable; this is disclosed before you book.
A2.3 Each host appoints Halo Club, through the payment provider, as its agent for the purpose of receiving payment from guests. Receipt of a guest's payment by the payment provider satisfies the guest's payment obligation to the host for that amount. Halo Club does not provide escrow services and is not licensed as a money transmitter; payment services are provided by the payment provider under its own licences.
A2.4 Hosts must comply with all federal, state and local laws that apply to short-term rentals of their home, including registration and licensing requirements in cities that have them. Where a city requires it, we may ask for proof of registration before allowing a booking and may decline or cancel bookings for unregistered homes.
A2.5 Hosts must provide a completed IRS Form W-9 (or W-8 if not a US person) before their first payout. Where required, we will file Form 1099-K and apply backup withholding. Where state or local law requires the platform to collect lodging or occupancy taxes, we will collect them from guests and pay them over.
A2.6 Hosts and guests must comply with the Fair Housing Act and applicable state and local anti-discrimination laws. Halo Club's admission and vetting decisions are based on criteria that do not include any protected characteristic.
A2.7 Please read this clause carefully, because it affects your legal rights.
(a) Any dispute or claim between you and Halo Club arising out of or relating to these terms or the platform, other than a claim within the jurisdiction of a small claims court or a claim for public injunctive relief where the law requires that it be heard in court, will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, before a single arbitrator. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this clause.
(b) The arbitration will take place in the county where you live, by video or on documents if you prefer. Halo Club will pay all filing and arbitrator fees for claims of [US$10,000] or less unless the arbitrator finds the claim frivolous.
(c) You and Halo Club each waive the right to a jury trial and the right to bring or take part in a class, collective or representative action. The arbitrator may award relief only to the individual party seeking it.
(d) You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing hello@haloclub.app within 30 days of first accepting these terms, stating your name and that you opt out of arbitration. Opting out does not affect any other part of these terms.
(e) Before starting arbitration, either party must send the other a written notice of the dispute and allow 30 days to resolve it informally.
